Position Information

Wollondilly Public School is an innovative, dynamic and strongly inclusive primary school providing a quality education for over 350 students and with three support classes, 5% of these students are from a language background other than English and 8% are from an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background. We are committed to providing rich programs to develop skills in technology, critical thinking, problem solving, communication and collaboration to enable students to reach their full potential educationally, socially and emotionally. Using Visible learning pedagogy and our PBL values of being ‘Safe Respectful and Responsible’, we are empowering students to take responsibility for their learning. Our school is developing a culture of evidence based, data informed decision making and aims to build the capacity of all teachers to lead, improve learning and innovate. Wollondilly Public School enjoys strong community support and has an active and very supportive Parents and Citizens' Association (P&C).

Selection Criteria

1. In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach special education and/or experience in teaching students with a diverse range of behavioural, emotional and learning difficulties including knowledge of Early Intervention.

2. Demonstrated ability to lead the development and implementation of differentiated curriculum that reflects the diverse needs and backgrounds of students, with a focus on positive behaviour and student engagement.

3. High level of organisational skills and a demonstrated ability to implement policies and procedures within a mainstream setting.

4. Demonstrated ability to work as an effective member of the school leadership team in the implementation of its vision and strategic directions, and to enhance the capacity of all staff through instructional leadership.

General Selection Criteria

2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs

3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams

4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents

5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning

6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
