Position Information

Banksmeadow Public School is located in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney and currently has 275 students enrolled across Kindergarten to Year 6, including three Support Classes. Currently 22% of students have a language background other than English. The school has a Department of Education Preschool catering for 40 places. Banksmeadow Public School is comprised of experienced and early career teachers, and the leadership team consists of four Assistant Principals. Staff work collaboratively with an active, supportive community to provide a positive, caring and stimulating learning environment. Educational programs are provided to cater for all students' academic, physical and social development. Current school priorities include literacy, numeracy, future-focused learner qualities, student wellbeing, performing arts and sport. Banksmeadow Public School works closely with the Botany Bay Preschool Community of Schools, as well as with local business.

Selection Criteria

Approval to teach infants and primary with a demonstrated capacity to provide high quality literacy and numeracy programs using evidence- based pedagogies.

Demonstrated capacity to differentiate the curriculum to cater for the individual needs of all learners.

Demonstrated ability to design and deliver future focused curriculum programs.

Demonstrated effective classroom management and ability to develop positive learning environments to enhance student engagement and wellbeing.

Experience and commitment to supporting extra curricula activities.

Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team, with a commitment to improve teaching and learning and build positive relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community.
