Early Childhood Assistant Educator

McKinlay Shire Council is seeking responsible and creative applicants for the position of an Early Childhood Assistant Educator at the Julia Creek Early Learning Centre (ELC). This position will be full time.
The Assistant Educator will assist the ELC Director in the design and implementation of both a Kindergarten program and long day care program in accordance with the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines and Early Years Learning Framework as well as assist in coordinating and overseeing ELC Staff.
Desired applicants will hold the following qualifications and experience:
- Diploma of Children’s Services or Advanced Diploma of Child Care from a Registered Training Organisation is essential;
- Current Working with Children Blue Card;
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate (including Anaphylaxis and Asthma training);
- Supervisors Certificate;
- Experience working with all ages of children who have not yet commenced school;
- Ability to promote and work within a team environment;
- An understanding of all Childcare Legislation, Early Years Learning Framework, and National Quality Framework, Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline and Workplace Health and Safety procedures is highly desirable.
Remuneration for this position will be based on the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream A) Award – State 2017 dependent on qualifications and experience.
