UTS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences seeks to appoint an Associate Professor, Strategic Communication in its highly regarded Public Communication Program within the School of Communication.

The appointee will join a leading team of advertising, PR,and corporate, government and organisational communication scholars and will work directly with Distinguished Professor Jim Macnamara who heads the program. From time to time the Associate Professor will be required to deputise for Distinguished Professor Macnamara in discipline leadership and management roles within the School of Communication and the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

The appointee is expected to have a strong academic research publishing track record in relevant disciplinary fields and success in gaining research funding. It will be an advantage to have research experience and/or an interest in areas aligned to UTS Public Communication research such as evaluation of communication, engagement/listening, and/or digital and social media.

The appointee is also required to have extensive undergraduate and postgraduate coursework teaching experience, including higher research degrees supervision.The successful candidatewill play a key role in the new Master of Strategic Communication and Executive Master of Strategic Communication launched by UTS in 2019.

Strong relationships and engagement with industry and relevant professions in Australia and/or internationally will also be an advantage.

Remuneration

Base Salary Range: $149,355 to $159,049 pa (Level D)

This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a continuing basis.
