Ocean View College Children’s Centre is located in the Western suburbs. The Centre is an integrated site offering child care, preschool and additional family and health services including a family support coordinator, community development coordinator and speech therapist. We are open 5 days a week from 7am until 6pm and close for 2 weeks over the Christmas and New Year period.
The part time position will be from 7:30am - 1:00pm, 3 days a week on Monday, Thursday and Friday.
The successful applicant will:
- Have appropriate recognised training in food safety standards
- Have a current Child-related DCSI screening check
- Have experience and be passionate about providing nutritious snacks and meals for children aged 3 months to 5 years
- Have experience in preparing suitable food for children with allergies and other dietary requirements
- Be able to work with leadership teams, families and children to develop seasonal menus
- Be able to purchase appropriate and sufficient supplies within the centre budget to feed approximately 50 children per day
- Work within the centre’s philosophy, policies and procedures
- Have highly developed organisational skills and cleanliness
- Be able to attend out of hours training and staff meetings when required
Desirable:
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate
