The NSW Defence Innovation Network brings together NSW Defence businesses, NSW Universities, State Government and the Defence Science and Technology Group (DST Group), with the primary aim of making NSW businesses more competitive and innovative and able to better respond to the national Defence Research and Development objectives as outlined in the Australian Department of Defence 2016 Defence Industry Policy Statement by harnessing the significant research capabilities available from NSW universities.

We are looking to appoint an Administration Officer to take on responsibility for providing high-level administrative support to the Manager and Director/s across a diverse range of activities such as day-to day operations, events, travel bookings etc, to achieve administrative objectives of the Network.   A key objective is to ensure that all administrative matters are prioritised appropriately and handled efficiently, effectively and professionally.

You will have a strong client focus and experience in providing excellent service in a high-pressure environment.

To be successful in gaining this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated ability to execute complex tasks with a keen attention to detail, especially while under pressure.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, and in particular the ability to respond effectively to unforeseen situations with a high level of integrity, assertiveness and application of judgement.
  • Demonstrated time management skills, with the ability to organise and prioritise work and manage multiple or conflicting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while also being part of a team.
  • High level computer skills, including the use of common MS Office software packages (Outlook, Excel) and ability to rapidly learn unfamiliar systems (iProc, Concur).
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to interact effectively with people from a wide variety of backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Remuneration & Benefits
Base Salary Range: $68,290 to $78,125 pa (HEW 5)
This role attracts 9.5% superannuation in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a fixed term basis for 12 months.
