YWCA Conder Early Childhood Service has been an integral part of the Conder community since 1994. The 47-place service offers an enriching Educational Program that has a strong focus on community engagement, and a commitment to making a difference.

YWCA Canberra is searching for an innovative leader who is ready to take on a Director role in an early childhood service that is unique and progressive.

 

About the Role

 

As the Centre Director you will report to the Early Childhood Services Manager. You will have a high level of autonomy in the day to day management of the Service in accordance with YWCA Canberra’s policies and procedures, National Quality Standards, YWCA Canberra’s Enterprise Agreement and any other relevant Regulatory and/or funding bodies. The key duties of the role are as follows:

 

  • Record management of day to day service delivery, including all compliance data
  • Supervision and management of all educators onsite
  • Develop and evaluate curriculum documentation and programs
  • Plan and implement quality improvement strategies
  • Providing formal and informal, high level written and verbal communication to all key stakeholders
  • Maintain rosters and appoint relief educators to cover absences as required
  • Assist with administration of attendance records, using the QikKids data base.
  • The recruitment and professional development of educators
  • Ensure effective and efficient financial management of the Early Childhood Service
  • Ensure that service operates at ‘Exceeding’ level, in relation to the National Quality Standards.

 

About you

 

We are seeking someone who shares in the YWCA Canberra organisation values. Essential requirements for the role are:

 

  • Previous experience leading and managing an Early Childhood Education and Care Service
  • Bachelor of Teaching Early Childhood Education or equivalent (including actively working towards)
  • A current Working with Vulnerable People Registration
  • A current approved first aid certificate and CPR
  • A current approved anaphylaxis and asthma management certificate
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and time management skills
  • A strong understanding of the NQF and NQS requirements
  • A strong understanding
