An opportunity exists for a highly qualified, experienced and committed leader, to take on the Head of Early Learning and Education role.

 

This newly created role will be responsible for developing, implementing and driving the national Education strategy across our organisation. With a focus on ensuring quality early childhood education, improving children's development outcomes and fostering innovation in education practices, this role will lead the organisation to achieve sector leading pedagogical practice and curriculum development, and ultimately to provide outstanding educational outcomes for all children across the G8 portfolio.

 

To achieve success in this role, the incumbent will have and/or demonstrate:

  • Tertiary or post graduate qualifications in Education, with a background or specialisation in Early Years Learning
  • Highly accomplished and reputable career as a teacher and/or practitioner in Early Years Learning
  • 10+ years of experience working in a senior leadership role within an educational environment
  • Extensive knowledge of contemporary best practice approaches to teaching and current practices that support pedagogical leadership and curriculum outcomes; supported by knowledge across multiple theorists and a variety of pedagogical approaches
  • Comprehensive and up-to-date working knowledge of standards of practice and legislative requirements: NQF, AITSL and ISO:9001
  • Experience and success in building and executing educational strategies and supporting frameworks
  • Experience in research-based approaches to curriculum development and pedagogy that support and sustain inclusion and equity
  • Ability to analyse data and trends and monitor developments in learning and teaching, provide feedback and plan for continuous improvement
  • Values based leadership with the ability to form, lead and drive successful and sustainable teams
  • Exceptional communication skills; bringing a point of view and being able to defend it in conversations with stakeholders, board groups, leaders, peers and team members alike
  • Highly developed decision making and problem-solving skills
