The role The Technical Officer provides support for teaching and research in animal science. The position is responsible for supervision of facilities used by the Animal Science group as well as supporting practical classes in animal biology, molecular biology and related courses. The role supports, maintains and operates laboratory and field equipment, and provides induction and training as required. Although a member of the Animal Science technical team, the role may be required to support teaching and research in other discipline areas. This role is based at the Gatton Campus and reports to the Technical Services Coordinator. The person Applicants should possess a Bachelor degree in animal science or related disciplines, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training. In addition you should have relevant lab experience which includes supporting the research of undergraduate and postgraduate students. You should also have a demonstrated understanding of animal physiology and anatomy and associated experience in large and small animal handling.
