With the recent implementation of the NDIS in Victoria, calls for more coordinated workforce planning, workforce development and careers promotions and pathways are essential. The TAFE Network plays a pivotal role in training the new workforce and providing inclusive education.
The Director, NDIS Program will support the TAFE Network in its sector-wide response to the NDIS. This will involve engagement with government, industry, training providers, disability advocacy groups and other key stakeholders to develop and implement the TAFE Network’s response to NDIS implementation. The Director is also responsible for project deliverables, while supervising a Project Manager to undertake contractual requirements with suppliers. They will need to be able to identify linkages across projects and ultimately support learners with disability.
The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience working in disability services, strong internal and external stakeholder engagement and an ability to translate vision and strategic direction into clear project outcomes. An ability to identify emerging issues and trends and implement strategies is key to ongoing success, combined with a knowledge of education and commitment to keeping abreast current developments and innovation in the field. This is a creative role with a strong stakeholder and strategic policy focus.
