Baxter Institute is a leading RTO delivering vocational and English courses (ELICOS and EAL) to local and international students. We are currently looking for both ongoing and relief English trainers for the City campus (CBD). Teaching schedules include mornings, evenings and weekends.
Position available
We are currently seeking both ongoing and casual ELICOS teachers and EAL trainers to prepare and deliver high quality student cantered lessons to our cohort of international students.
- EAL trainers:
The successful candidate will hold one of the following:
• Bachelor of Education, Master of Education or Master of Teaching with TESL/TESOL as a method
• Diploma of Education with TESL/TESOL as a method
• TESL/TESOL within Graduate Certificate in Education
• Graduate Certificate in TESL/TESOL
• Graduate Diploma in TESL/TESOL
• Masters degrees which include a TESOL specialisation such as:
- Masters of Arts (TESL/TESOL)
- Masters of Teaching
- MTESOL
AND
• Certificate IV in TAE (TAE40110) or a recognised adult education degree.
Please note that CELTA or Certificate IV TESOL do not meet these requirements.
Desirable:
- Experience as a trainer / assessor in delivering Skills first program
- An understanding of the AQF
- An understanding of the training package
- Strong linkages with industry
- Digital skills and familiar to LMS/Moodle
Duties include:
- Prepare and deliver high quality training
- Monitor student attendance and progress
- Assess and submit student assessments
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Participate in validation and moderation activities
- Promote a professional work culture
- ELICOS teachers
Requirements:
- A Bachelor Degree and a qualification in TESL/TEFL/TESOL
- A minimum of 1 year experience in teaching English as a Second Language at a recognised ELICOS college is required.
- Experience in developing resources
- Focused on student engagement and learning
- Ability to work in a team environment and eye for detail in administrative tasks
- continually strive for personal and organizational development
- Eligible to work in Australia
