About MacKillop Specialist School, Geelong Campus

MacKillop Specialist School is part of the education services provided by MacKillop Family Services, whose founding members, the Sisters of Mercy, the Sisters of St Joseph and the Christian Brothers have a long and rich tradition of ensuring equity and access to education for all children. MacKillop Specialist School caters for children (Foundation-VCAL) who are disengaged from learning, have complex and diverse needs and therefore require extensive adjustments to access learning.

Due to MacKillop Education Services expanding over the last 5 years, we are seeking dynamic leaders who are passionate and committed to working with these children, young people and their families to enhance their educational outcomes.

About the role

MacKillop is currently seeking a Deputy Principal who will work closely with the Principal, Executive Principal, and the local and combined Leadership Teams. This is a key role within the organisation and will be a member of the College Leadership Team. This position reports to the Principal.

The Deputy Principal will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and learning and well-being as outlined in the strategic plan and the role description. In collaboration with the Executive Principal, Principal and members of the Leadership Team, the Deputy Principal will lead MacKillop Education in the development of an exemplary learning and teaching environment that is mindful of the well-being needs of all students.

In the Principal's absence, the Deputy Principal replaces the Principal and assumes full authority and responsibility for the programs.

This is a full-time position with the commence date of Term 4 2018 (or as negotiated), for an initial period of 6 years. The Deputy Principal will have a teaching role at the school, and has an ongoing tenure as a teacher at the School.

This position will be primarily based in the Geelong campus of the MacKillop Specialist School. Some travel may be required.
