Reporting to an experienced and supportive Centre Director, the 2IC/ Support Educator will play a key role on the management team of the Waverley Gardens facility. You will be committed to high-quality education and excellence in service delivery in everything you do. 

Day to day, you will:

  • Support and work in partnership with the Centre Director
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for children at all times
  • Create positive relationships with team members, children and their families
  • Use your knowledge of the Early Year's Learning Framework and National Quality Standards
  • Approach tasks in a professional and proactive manner, using initiative and flexibility
  • Use your great time management and organisational skills to ensure the centre is running like a well oiled machine
  • Use your excellent written and verbal communication skills to relate and communicate well to parents, other educators, and our Support Office
  • Work collaboratively with other team members on a range of projects unique to this service.

You will have:

  • A Diploma in Children's Services or Bachelor of Early Education
  • Previous experience in Early Childhood settings, including strong ability in Documenting Children's Learning 
  • Have a genuine interest in promoting children's learning and well-being
  • A current and valid Working with Children Check 
  • Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis Certificate
  • Completed Child Protection Training
  • Be available to work Monday to Friday 6:30am to 6:30pm
     

Ideally you will also hold:

  • Knowledge of the stages of physical, emotional, cognitive, social and cultural development of children
  • The capability to engage children through activities and experiences appropriate for age groups / stages of development
  • Fully certified qualifications in area of expertise
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Understanding of the National Quality Standards 
  • Enthusiasm for continuous improvement and professional development
  • Willingness to learn and inspire others to continue their learning journey
  • Previous experience as a 2IC/Lead Educator (desirable but not essential).
