About us

Food Agility Cooperative Research Centre (FA-CRC) and its partners share a common purpose, to digitally transform Australia's food and agricultural industry.

In a world where everything is digitally connected, data is a critical asset. Food is no different - yet Australian agriculture is understood to have the lowest digital adoption of all industries. Digital technology is accepted as a key enabler across the food value chain. Despite the clear global trends, the Australian Farm Institute found in a 2016 report that Australia is far behind the USA in using digital information systems.

Food Agility's programs will drive digital service innovation across the agrifood ecosystem, enabled by data sharing and collaboration.

Curtin University is ranked in the top 200 universities worldwide (ARWU 2017), and in the top 50 in the world for universities under the age of 50 (QS World University Rankings 2017). In recent years, the University has climbed significantly in global league tables and was named as a rising star, the most collaborative of the Australian universities, and the biggest Australian mover in the Nature Index results for 2016. Curtin is industry-facing, highly engaged with relevant partners, and a major global player, with well-integrated campuses in Singapore, Malaysia, and Dubai.
