School of Mathematics and Physics
The School of Mathematics and Physics is a School within the Faculty of Science at the University of Queensland. The Discipline of Physics is located in the School of Mathematics and Physics. It is the leading provider of tertiary physics education in Queensland. Undergraduate programs offered are BSc and BAdvSci; Coursework degrees (MSc) and research degrees (MPhil and PhD) are offered at postgraduate level.
The Discipline is internationally recognised for its research excellence and hosts a number of first class research centres. Research is carried out at the cutting edge across a broad spectrum of areas in Physics and Astronomy.
The position is based at the St. Lucia campus of The University of Queensland, one of the most spacious and attractive university campuses in Australia. The campus is centrally located near major public transport routes.

The role
The appointee is expected to strongly contribute to the project “Nanoscale heat transfer phenomena: new paradigm for intra- and intercellular signalling and shaping”. The project is supported by Human Frontier Science Program. He/she will will be a part of the international research team and will work mostly on the physics side of the project. The successful candidate will also support honours, masters and doctoral students as required.
The person
Applicants should possess qualifications in relevant disciplines. He/she should also have strong experimental skills, advanced writing abilities, experience in biophysics, optics, nanoparticle functialisation or related fields, and the capacity to work with multidisciplinary research teams.

Remuneration
This is a full-time, fixed term appointment at Academic level A. The remuneration package will be in the range $81,546 - $87,535 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $95,408 - $102,416 p.a.).
