The School of Software is seeking a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Quantum Encrypted Computing.

You will create a strong focus on the cryptographic aspects of quantum computing and communications. This includes the development of both large and small scale quantum algorithms and cryptographic protocols for implementation on realistic quantum computing hardware models. The broader quantum technology community has expanded significantly in the past 24 months, with four major technology corporations now actively working in building quantum technology. It is expected that you will make UTS a major source of skilled quantum engineers and software developers to quantum hardware and software companies globally.

The School of Software is internationally recognised for its research, and as one of Australia's most industry-focused teaching and learning program providers in the field of Computer Science, Information Technology (IT) and Information Systems. As a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer with the School of Software, you will be expected to:

  • Conduct high quality research in the area of encrypted quantum computation.
  • Generate and sustain high quality research publication outputs (in particular in top Journals/Conferences in the area of encrypted quantum computation 
  • Attract research funding in the area of encrypted quantum computation
  • Supervise or co-supervise higher degree research (HDR) students in Information Technology, ensuring their high-quality research achievements and successful on-time completion.
  • Build international collaborations and networking with world-renowned experts.
  • Deliver related subjects in the area of quantum encryption in the Faculty.
  • Assist in curriculum development and contribute to the overall development of teaching and learning in the School of Software with an emphasis on emerging topics of international and national professional interest through participation in subject and course reviews.

As the successful candidate you will have:

  • A PhD Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a very closely related field.
  • Demonstrated stellar track record in the area of encrypted quantum computation through high quality research publications (in top Journals/conferences in the related areas).
  • Willing to effectively and harmoniously engage research and teaching in Information Technology/ encrypted quantum computation.
  • Comprehensive and solid knowledge in quantum encryption
  • High quality publication records in quantum software. First authored publications are strong evidence.
  • Experience on delivering high quality results for government funded discovery projects (equivalent to ARC Discovery Projects) as a contributor.

Remuneration & Benefits
Base Salary Range: $101,932 to $138,453pa (Level B/C)

This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a continuing basis.
