Tradewind are now working in partnership with an Alternative Provision who are looking for an English Teacher who is committed to educating and nurturing pupils with Social and Emotional Mental Health Difficulties within a mixed class of Year 7-8 (KS3) and Year 9-10 (KS4) students.

The position is for a Full Time, Long Term Teacher who would be paid to the Main Pay Scale (via daily rate). The school is based in Tower Hamlets, East London and has practical transport links from Central, West, South, North and East London.  

The alternative provision supports students who come to them at various points of their secondary schooling, usually because of their previous school placement having broken down, whether through ill-health, behaviour issues or other difficulties, frequently feeling less than positive about themselves and their life chances. The provision has a proven track record either to support the children to return to regular schooling or by completing year 11 with them. 

The Teacher we require should have: 
•    Functional Skills 
•    Dramatically improved the life chances of students, whose previous experience of schools has, for whatever reasons, not been a wholly positive experience
•    Accelerate the upward trajectory of rapid improvement and complete the schools onward journey from good (2014) to outstanding  
•    Experience of working with pupils in a PRU/Alternative Provision/SEMH background in as a subject specialist
•    English Teacher 

The Teacher will be required to teach students who are on P Scales on the national curriculum across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. 

The provision is based in Tower Hamlets and operates over four sites that are geographically distant from each other, around 10 mins by car and 20 mins by walking. All sites have good transport links and very easily accessible from train stations. 

The education and care provided to the students at the school is continually improving, giving young people quality access to an education regardless of the starting point. The correct Teacher will have a mission to support getting the children back on track, either through a return to regular schooling or in to further education at college.
