The School of Psychology and Exercise Science encompasses two disciplines. The discipline of psychology has research strengths in social, developmental, cognitive neuroscience and psychological medicine, as well as postgraduate programs (PhD, DPsych, Clinical, Professional and Industrial). Psychology is keen to develop synergies with its sister discipline of Exercise Science (exercise physiology, biomechanics, rehabilitation and sports science).

The Role

Although any area of psychology will be considered, applicants with an interest and expertise in developmental psychology are especially welcome. The successful candidate will make a significant contribution in the teaching and research effort of the School through the preparation and delivery of lectures, tutorials, program coordination and supervision of honours and postgraduate students.

Skills and Experience

  • A PhD in an area relevant to the appointment
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching in the discipline at the undergraduate and postgraduate level.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage in independent research, with an established record of scholarly publications.
  • Demonstrated success in supervising honours, postgraduate and HDR students.
  • Demonstrated experience and success innovative course and program coordination and design.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, past success in working effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary and collegial team, and the ability to take on a leadership role at the School level.
