Woden Community Service (WCS) is a for-purpose organisation that has been providing community based services for over 45 years. Our vision of ‘a vibrant and connected community’ is achieved through our values of Hope, Community, Integrity, and Responsiveness.

We employ over 400 permanent and casual staff and have an active volunteer program with over 80 volunteers, all of whom deliver services to children, families, young people, and seniors, including ability, housing, and mental health services.

Your new role:

An exciting opportunity for the right candidate has opened up for a permanent Coordinator of our Torrens Out of School Hours Care program.

If you are working towards or have the relevant tertiary qualifications in Children’s Services, and strong management skills coupled with the capacity to build and maintain robust relationships with children, families, school personnel and colleagues you are encouraged to apply.

About you:

The successful candidate will coordinate the OSHC program (Before and After School Care), providing supervision and mentoring of staff and ensuring the program outcomes are in line with organisational values and expectations, whilst simultaneously delivering quality care.

You will be reliable, punctual and have a mature attitude to work. Experience in staff supervision and performance support is highly valued. 

Selection Criteria:

To be considered for this position you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Knowledge of and experience with the National Quality Standard (NQS) and the learning frameworks – My Time, Our Place (MTOP) and the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
  • A proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team.
  • Possess an understanding of the importance of personal and professional boundaries, ethical behaviours, policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, combined with a proactive and hands-on approach.

The successful candidate must also possess:

  • a current Working with Vulnerable People Check or the ability to obtain one
  • a current Senior First Aid Certificate with Anaphylaxis and Asthma training
