About the opportunity 

 
An opportunity exists for the position of Organisational Change Manager to join the Transformation Office within the Information and Communications Technology team, to design and deliver Change Management solutions with a people and culture focus. 

The Office of the CIO ensures that the opportunities presented by technology are maximised to transform the University and maintain its competitiveness within the higher education sector. The Transformation Office within the Office of the CIO will have a significant role in leading the development and delivery of the University’s digital direction and technology master plan. As a champion for change, they will take a leadership role in the development of organisational culture and capability within ICT to foster and support the growth and development of people in the organisation. 

This Organisational Change Manager will propose, coordinate and advise on change management within the industrial framework, developing an appropriate engagement and workforce transition strategy, and well as the design and implementation of a plan to embed the change through culture and capability initiatives. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for: identifying the appropriate change management approach for people related changes within the business context; leading and managing the design, development and implementation of change management deliverables such as communications; managing stakeholder expectations; working with the Project Lead and other members of the Transformation Office to engage stakeholders and ensure business readiness; and developing a sustainability plan to ensure a smooth transition.

  • Think broadly about change impacts to business within the context of the project, in order to proactively lead initiatives to embed the change and minimise risk.
  • Identify barriers to the business initiative and develop change strategies, plans, communications and schedules to effectively overcome these barriers.
  • Ensure sustainable change occurs by understanding the requirements of the business and ensuring key areas are operationally ready.
  • Develop and manage the delivery of the Change Management Plan, bringing the Project Leads along the change journey.
  • Work in partnership with the Project Lead and other members of the Transformation Office and seek inputs and feedback on the effectiveness of the Change Management Plan.
  • Work flexibly and collaboratively in a small transformation team to provide end-to-end change leadership to ICT’s transformation projects.
  The Successful candidate will possess:
 
  • Extensive experience in change management working on people and culture projects
  • Exposure to working in large, complex environments with the ability to adapt to constant change.
  • Experience in interacting with varied stakeholder groups utilising strong influencing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and facilitation skills
