Year 7 Teacher
The School
Hillbrook is a co-educational school of 750 students from Years 7 - 12, established in 1987. The School’s motto “In Balance We Grow” underpins life at Hillbrook, which prides itself on its focus on quality teaching and learning and a specialisation in the nurturing of adolescents. We aspire to provide all members of our staff and student body with support in a community environment. Students are encouraged to engage in a range of pursuits to achieve a balance between the academic, creative, physical and spiritual aspects of their lives. In 2019, Hillbrook will welcome an extra stream of 30 students in Year 7 to our school.
Staff at Hillbrook are encouraged to become involved in the collegial ethos of the school.
All applicants would need to be supportive of the core values of Hillbrook.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative teacher for the position of Year 7 Teacher, commencing January 2019.
Young adolescents experience a range of rapid and dramatic physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and moral changes. This has implications for their learning and success in managing emotional, social and moral challenges. For these reasons the Year 7 Home Class teachers are expected to teach their Home Class for a minimum of 3 subjects. For example, this may be English, Global Studies and Philosophical Inquiry.
Staff at Hillbrook are committed to, and involved in, the collegial ethos of the school. All applicants would need to be supportive of the values of an independent Anglican school. The school actively encourages and supports teachers in furthering their own professional development.
Applicants should have a creative approach to teaching and be able to challenge students to strive for their best. The successful applicant will display a high level of commitment to working collaboratively and a strong desire to make a positive difference in the lives of young people.
