The Opportunity
Monash University Library is one of Australia’s leading academic libraries, with a long-standing reputation for a comprehensive collection, technological innovation and professional excellence. The Library strengthens the University by providing outstanding scholarly resources and study facilities and through leadership in research skills development, scholarly communication and use of technology.
Monash University Library is offering two positions in Information Resources. The successful candidates will be collaborative and enthusiastic librarians involved in a variety of unique scholarly resource development and discovery activities. The ideal candidates will possess a combination of expertise in the following areas: collection development, analysing and evaluating resources for evidence-based recommendations, electronic resource acquisition and licence negotiation, and liaising with librarians and vendors.
One of the positions will have greater emphasis on metadata including developments in the linked data environment, access and discovery initiatives, and contributing to the enhancement of researcher profiles.
You will work both individually and as part of a team, and will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deliver a quality, customer focused service for a wide range of library users. You will be responsible for various projects within Information Resources and wider Library teams, as well as developing emerging ways of working with the resources such as text and data mining.
If either of these positions sound like they suit your current career focus and match your experience and skill set, then we look forward to hearing from you.
This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
At Monash University, we are committed to being a Child Safe organisation. Some positions at the University will require the incumbent to hold a valid Working with Children Check.
