VET trainer/assessor positions -  Sydney

ECA College (ECAC)

ECA College is a registered vocational college committed to excellence and professionalism. It is part of a group of colleges called, Education Center Australia(ECA). The college offers courses which provide a broad range of career opportunities, and pathways to further University study. ECAC has three campuses across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

We are currently looking to appoint suitably experienced Trainers to teach the following qualifications in our Melbourne branch.

  • Diploma of Marketing & Communications (Essential Social Media and Digital  Marketing experience)
  • Certificate IV and Diploma of Business
  • Certificate IV and Diploma of Marketing and communication
  • Diploma of Project Management
  • Diploma of Leadership and Management

All the above qualifications are 1-year long. Each appointee will be responsible and available for teaching the whole qualification on 16 hours per week basis over 2 days.

 The successful candidates will be accountable to the Academic Manager and Director of studies of the Campus and they will receive support and guidance from experienced senior staff and dedicated student services team.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of lesson/session plans and delivery of the lectures.
  • Maintenance of student attendance rolls and academic records on the student management system
  • Assist in maintenance of all documentation required for the Trainer & Assessor Profile (Master Matrix, PD Log & Qualification Log) in compliance with the requirements of the external governing bodies
  • Implementation of nominated attendance and academic intervention strategies
  • Identification of student welfare needs
  • Specified administrative tasks relating to the delivery and assessment of quality training

Key selection criteria

  • Hold relevant qualifications(at least to the level of delivery) that have units that can be mapped to units of competency in the qualifications delivered.
  • Candidates must have TAE40116 (Certificate IV training & assessment) or have TAE40110 and be upgrading to the TAE40116.
  • Relevant industry experience.
  • Sound knowledge of RTO2015 standards (desirable)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Capacity to work productively – both autonomously and within a team environment.
  • Experience teaching to international students(desirable).
  • A commitment to quality and integrity in vocational education.
  • Willingness to participate in professional development activities relevant to teaching and industry.
