The Organisation

Airservices is a government owned organisation providing safe, secure, efficient and environmentally responsible services to the aviation industry.

Each year we manage over four million aircraft movements carrying more than 140 million passengers, and provide air navigation services across 11 per cent of the world’s airspace.
 Airservices has two major operating centres in Melbourne and Brisbane and a corporate office in Canberra. We operate 29 air traffic control towers at international and regional airports, and provide aviation rescue fire fighting services at 26 Australian airports.

The Role

ANS Ongoing training is accountable for the design and delivery of education and training activities which develop capability and maintain competencies of Air Traffic Services to enable safe and effective service delivery.

The Person

As an ANS Onggoing Training Specialist you will design, develop and implement innovative and high quality competency based training solutions to ensure effective and efficient training outcomes that support the needs of the operational ATS group, build workforce capability and ensure compliance with CASA and Airservices regulatory requirements.

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant will have:

• Minimum 5 years recent experience in training within the aviation industry (e.g. air traffic control, commercial flight operations, Defence)
• Demonstrated expert knowledge and application of Civil Aviation regulations (e.g. CASR Parts 65, 143 and 172) and Registered Training Organisation standards and practices
• Demonstrated expert knowledge and application of adult learning principles and competency based training, particularly in an operational service delivery environment
• Experience in developing tailored learning solutions and training products for diverse operational audiences in simulator, classroom and/or e-learning environments
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with high level attention to detail and accuracy
• Advanced analytical skills to diagnose and remediate individual or systemic training issues
• Demonstrated ability to maintain collaborative working relationships, including with accountable managers
• Demonstrated ability to deal with sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality
• Ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification, preferably in an ATS related discipline or Aviation, Management, Training and Education
