Acton Early Childhood Centre is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Lead Educator to work alongside our dedicated educators in our babies room birth - 2 years.

AECC is a well-established and highly respected not for profit community-based long day-care centre. Our centre provides a caring, home - like environment in which each child is nurtured and encouraged to explore their full potential.

Our philosophy emphasises the importance of the family unit and acknowledges the vital role our centre plays in supporting and educating the children in our care through the development of trust, security and loving relationships.

Our unique building and extensive grounds are set in tranquil, natural surroundings, which helps to foster respect and admiration for natural beauty, flora and fauna.

AECC has 54 approved places and the centre is open Monday to Friday 07:45 - 18.00.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma in Children's Services
  • Previous experience in an education setting at least 2 years
  • Working with Vulnerable People Registration
  • 'Senior First Aid' or 'Provide First Aid' course Certificate

Key Functions and Responsibilities

  • Foster co-operative relationships amongst all staff, families and the management committee.
  • Assist team member's in implementing developmentally and culturally appropriate experiences and writing observations on a daily basis.
  • Ensure a warm, caring, secure, stimulating, safe and comfortable environment is provided for all children, families and staff.
  • Ensure compliance with centre procedures, policies and philosophy.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding the children, families and staff.
  • Attend monthly staff and Management Committee meetings, represent AECC at meetings with the Australian National University and attend other meetings as required.
  • Maintain a high standard of hygiene and safety
  • Must be available to work between the hours of 7.30 - 18.00.
  • Knowledge of the EYLF & NQS
