About us

The Dymocks Group is a sizeable private Group with a history of trading over 138 years. Most well known for the iconic multi-channel “Dymocks” retail brand the Group also has significant investments in commercial property, food manufacturing and farming. During an exciting period of growth, the Group is establishing a tutoring business with the aim of providing meaningful tutoring services to students of all ages.

 

The Roles

We have significant demand for tutors to join our tutoring business on a casual basis to deliver exceptional lessons to engaged and enthusiastic students. Opportunities are available for the following subject disciplines:

  • English (7 – 12) including to Extension I and Extension II
  • Mathematics (7 – 12) including Extension I and Extension II
  • Year 11 and 12 Economics
  • Year 11 and 12 Physics
  • Year 11 and 12 Chemistry
  • Year 11 and 12 Biology

 

Responsibilities

  • Deliver our approved lesson content in a small group environment to enthusiastic and passionate students
  • Inspire and engage as part of our mission to help each student realise the transformative power of education
  • Provide feedback to the learning team to assist in constant iterative development of learning materials so that we constantly improve

 

Key attributes

  • Degree qualified in teaching with appropriate tertiary qualifications in the relevant subject area or undergraduate with at least 2 years’ study in the relevant subject area
  • Strong understanding of the NSW syllabus and assessment requirements (current and pending changes)
  • Good knowledge of “All My Own Work” requirements
  • Reliable and motivated and capable of being an engaging and empathetic guide to students
  • Willingness to explore new ways of teaching and delivering content
  • Passion for teaching and engaging students
  • A moderate level of proficiency using Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a high degree of attention to detail
  • Current Working with Children Check and understanding of child safety
