Moonee Valley City Council is currently seeking an enthusiastic leader to joining the Family and Children’s Department in the position of Coordinator Planning, Policy and Advocacy.

 

The Planning, Policy and Advocacy Unit is responsible for advocacy and educational leadership, policy development, and strategic service system and infrastructure planning across the Department. Operational functions include information and knowledge management, delivery of the pre-school field officer program, management of the central registration program, grant acquisition, implementation and management, facilities management, key project delivery and event management.

 

Some key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Promote knowledge management and service system planning processes, including infrastructure planning, to ensure that Family and Children’s Service is best place to deliver quality services into the future.
  • Provide specialist expertise in the rollout of the Council Plan and MV2040 ensuring family and children are highly represented in Council’s response to the Monee Valley community.
  • Deliver an advocacy program that is responsive to sector reforms, Council direction and children and family interests across the municipality.
  • Champion the Moonee Valley Early Years Plan and develop municipal engagement that stimulates respect, equity, access and inclusion for all children.

 

Interested applicants will have a relevant tertiary qualification in the relevant discipline plus post graduate studies in business management, social planning or a related discipline with substantial experience in the development and delivery of early year’s programs including service delivery to families and children.
