The UTS Student Administration Unit is currently recruiting for an Events Coordinator, Ceremonies and Events.  In this role you will lead, develop and coordinate the successful delivery of graduations and other special ceremonies, as well as supervising several team members whilst reporting to the Manager, Ceremonies and Events.

The successful candidate will be experienced at events management, overseeing and managing the successful delivery of over 40 graduation ceremonies, including international and special ceremonies throughout the UTS academic year.  You will also be required to support the Manager in the successful delivery of special projects as they arise including conceptualising, implementing and reviewing for continuous improvement.

The successful applicant will have excellent project planning, end-to-end events management and organisational skills, as well as a high level of accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and deal with competing demands.  High level written and verbal communication skills are a must for this role including the ability to conceptualise, write and review relevant business processes.

Main duties/responsibilities:

• Support the management and delivery of the University's Ceremonies and Events including development, implementation and monitoring of business, project and operational plans.
• Manage the development of communications materials for internal and external audiences, including web content, letters, graduation programs, speaker synopses, citations, case-specific advice and printed resources.
• Lead, manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the team including task allocation and prioritization, staff logistics, staff development of direct reports and delivery of related projects.
• Ability to initiate, develop and implement event and business processes, checklists, run-sheets and the like to ensure high levels of excellence in the delivery of the Ceremonies and Events team's outcomes, in particular Graduation ceremonies.

Main skills/experience Required:

• Ability to produce high volumes of work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment, characterized by competing priorities and deadlines.
• End-to-end event management skills and an awareness of hospitality principles.
• Excellent word processing, spreadsheet, database and proofreading skills.
• High level written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead and supervise direct reports.
• A degree with at least 5 years subsequent event or related project management experience; or extensive experience and management expertise in events/project management; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

Remuneration

Base Salary Range: $87,414 to $96,701 pa (HEW 7)

This role attracts 9.5% superannuation in addition to the base salary. Employee benefits include flexible work practices, child care centres, generous parental leave and salary packaging opportunities.

This appointment will be made on full time basis for a period of 12 months.
