Australian College of Applied Business (ACAB) is one of the progressive Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) based in Canberra, ACT. The college is currently offering certificate to diploma level courses in business to domestic students and corporate clients, with a plan to extend the scope of registration in the near future. The college is awaiting registration as a provider of educational services to overseas students (CRICOS) and looking to expand its team to support the new operations.

We are seeking expressions of interest from qualified individuals who have proven experience in their respective fields to join our management team. The primary function of the Campus Director is to support the Chief Executive Officer in the operation of all aspects of the campus and its internal and external relationships.

To be successful in this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
 

  • Relevant tertiary qualification at minimum Master’s level with experience or an equivalent combination of extensive relevant experience and education/training;
  • Proven organisational and logistical skills, especially in management of educational facilities;
  • Demonstrated aptitude for self-direction & motivation, including an ability to work autonomously and under pressure when dealing with a variety of tasks, conflicting priorities and multiple deadlines;
  • Knowledge of contemporary human resource and workplace relations concepts together with a demonstrated ability to interpret and apply relevant employment legislation and standards;
  • Demonstrated capacity to develop and implement innovative HR strategies;
  • Well-developed human resource management and industrial relations experience;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience in negotiation and conflict resolution;
  • Excellent writing skills with a demonstrated record in writing reports, briefing notes, clear policies and procedures and other necessary communications for a variety of audiences;
  • Knowledge and understanding of the principles of equity, cultural diversity and occupational health and safety;
  • Ability to effectively participate in committees and working groups at a senior and strategic level;
  • High level negotiation skills and the ability to facilitate effective working relationships amongst various groups and individuals, including senior managers both internal and external to the college;
  • Knowledge of latest information technology trends and ability to make recommendations on improvement of information technology resources;
  • Sound knowledge of the relevant Standards for RTOs 2015, and The National Code 2018;
  • Sound knowledge of the Australian education industry and the VET sector;
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to work under pressure, and meet deadlines;
  • Excellent communication, relationship management, analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise, consult and negotiate with staff at all levels, and with external agencies, service providers and clients; and
  • High level computer skills including the Microsoft Office package (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
