The Organisation

NSW is currently implementing a ten-year strategy to 2025 and our ambition is to establish UNSW as Australia’s global university.  Our commitment is to share our capability in research and education in the highest quality partnerships with institutions in both developed and emerging societies.

The Biomedical Imaging Facility (BMIF) is a multi-user facility within the Mark Wainwright Analytical Centre (MWAC) in the Division of Research at UNSW, Sydney. The facility supports and collaborates with a variety of research groups in the Faculties of Science, Medicine and Engineering at UNSW, as well as groups at other universities and research institutes in Australia and overseas.  A new strategic unit, the Ramaciotti Systems Microscopy Unit, is being established in association with BMIF for the automation of multiplexed labelling of cells and tissue combined with bioimage informatics, statistical large data analysis and machine learning.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of the Biomedical Imaging Facility, you will support and collaborate on research projects in the new Ramaciotti Systems Microscopy Unit developing an integrated suite of statistic tools, focusing on multivariate methods, to translate large imaging data into meaningful, quantitative biological information.

The Successful Candidate

You are a PhD qualified scientist, with extensive experience in BioImage Informatics, statistical analysis of imaging-derived large data, and autonomous machine learning.  You have experience working in a multiuser facility and a track record in applications of advanced fluorescence microscopy techniques.

To Apply

If joining an international specialist team to collaborate and support researchers in a world-class imaging facility of interest to you, please submit your cover letter, CV and responses to selection criteria nominated in the position description.
