We are seeking a DEPUTY PRINCIPAL for a short-term position in a lovely community school located in the beautiful Falkland Islands!
Start date: Late August 2018 - an initial 12 month contract will be offered, with the opportunity for renewal.
The School
This school is an 11-16 mixed comprehensive school with only 160 on role with an average class size of 16 students. The school has modern, well resourced facilities, which includes a dual-used community library and interactive whiteboards in facilitate learning in all classroom.
The Falkland Islands is a British Overseas Territory and as such implements the English National Curriculum.
The Role
The role we are seeking is for a Deputy Principal for an immediate start for a short-term period of approximately 3-4 months. This is a fantastic opportunity to travel for a short period and contribute your experience to a small school. You will be required to support the Head Teacher, undertaking responsibility for specific aspects of school management.
The Deputy Principal
Essential criteria is that teachers will have fully qualified teacher status, with a minimum of a Bachelor of Education in Secondary Education. You will have experience with PGCE or in-depth knowledge of this curriculum. Additional qualifications in Leadership and Management or a higher degree in Education is highly desirable. Minimum of 5 years experience in a Leadership role is preferred.
Candidates suited to this position will have previous experience working in a remote location; be able to inspire, motivate and enthuse colleagues; work well with people at all levels; and be able to impart experience over a short period of time.
