WHAT MAKES PETIT SPECIAL?

Petit Early Learning Journey provides an environment for all children to discover and develop to their potential. This environment is built on the principles, practices and learning outcomes of the Australian Early Years Learning Framework. Petit educators create and deliver programs of engagement that develop each child’s identity, connectedness, wellbeing and confidence. We provide a safe, respectful and compassionate environment that is supportive towards children’s social, emotional and cognitive development, an atmosphere that awakens the love of learning.

Nurturing a sense of wonder and uplifting the spirit of human imagination are focal points of our curriculum. At Petit, we follow a holistic approach which encompasses a connection of mind, body and spirit, and a view that all learning is integrated and interconnected. By cultivating a child’s self-awareness of their body, feelings, thoughts and attitudes, we hope to support the discovery of their unique personality. Petit educators embrace the value of play as the heart of Petit curriculum. We understand the individuality of play and respect each child’s approach to play.

We aspire to foster hope and wonder through an understanding and respect for the natural environment. We endorse sustainable practices and believe in nurturing children’s understanding about their responsibility to care for the environment.

We believe in working together; we encourage parental involvement with their child’s education and value the diversity of our Petit families’ culture, backgrounds, interests and passions. We recognise and promote individuality as expressed through a child’s language, interaction and learning styles, and ways of communicating; through this we are able to promote feelings of belonging and assurance.
