UniLodge South Bank is a state of the art, purpose built student accommodation complex that opened in March 2017 and is home to 850 students.

About your new role

The Student Life Manager (referred to internally as Residential Life Manager) role is responsible for facilitating the coordination of the residence as a community, with a particular emphasis on resident well-being, pastoral care, academic matters and events management.

Due to the nature of the events and activities that this role is responsible for coordinating, the Student Life Manager will be required to work after hours and some weekends.  Please note hours will be well balanced should you need to work extended hours. 

Day to day responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and support in the management and development of the Residential Life Program at the property
  • Recruit, train and manage of a team of Residential Advisors and Student Leaders
  • Manage a diverse and holistic calendar of events for residents while balancing core areas of support and resident interests 
  • Provide exceptional service to all internal customers and associated organisations
  • Maintain and build trusted relationships with University support services to ensure the wellbeing of students
  • Serve as the primary contact for residents in relation to all after-hours situations that might arise

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience in a similar capacity with a focus on leadership and wellbeing in a University/youth environment
  • You are highly productive, empathetic and enthusiastic 
  • Evidence of tertiary studies that have provided the experience to fully understand the complexities of University life.
  • Event management experience preferable, this would include elements of budgets, planning and implementation
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to research and develop evidence-based programs and policies
  • Current First Aid certification or the ability to quickly acquire
  • Ability to provide evidence of a National Police Check and Working with Children's check.
