As a key member of the Austal organisation, the Sustainment Training Manager ensures training requirements of sustainment projects are met. In addition the sustainment training manager is responsible for the delivery of in-house training when required by other business units.

 

Duties will include:

  • Project management of the training delivery applying a Systems Engineering process, including requirements derivation and review, training design, implementation and verification/evaluation that is compliant with approved processes;
  • Effective execution of the formal training development process in accordance with the Systems Approach to Defence Learning, or other methodology as applicable, including tailoring of the process;
  • Interface with other Logistic Support Analysis processes in accordance with relevant DEF(AUST) and other processes to ensure training is consistent;
  • Actively pursue technology opportunities to improve training effectiveness;
  • Manage assigned personnel including performing staff development functions;
  • Support lean and efficient methods in delivery of contracted activities.

 

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment,
  • Relevant qualifications in Learning and Development,
  • Maritime experience desirable but not essential,
  • High level of written communication skills to produce succinct correspondence and reports
