Newcastle Business School is the larger of 2 schools within the Faculty of Business and Law. The School teaches in Newcastle City, Ourimbah, Sydney, Online and offshore.

The University of Newcastle's Business School (NBS) has received international acclaim for its programs through accreditation with the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). In addition our Bachelor of Commerce accounting major is designed to provide accreditation with the major professional bodies in accounting, including the Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA), Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).Newcastle Business School is renowned for excellence in internationally relevant research. About the role

The Newcastle Business School is currently seeking to appoint a suitably qualified academic to a Level C position, on a full-time continuing basis, based at our Central Coast, Newcastle or Sydney locations.

The Senior Lecturer (level C) contributes to the delivery of the University's Strategic Plan in the field of Business as a key member of the School providing excellence in Research and Innovation, Teaching and Learning, and Service and Engagement. The Senior Lecturer combines substantial academic expertise and some applied experience and is recognised for their research contribution and for applying their expertise in a range of business contexts. The Senior Lecturer is expected to be a course coordinator/ program convener, to undertake postgraduate supervision, to demonstrate leadership at disciplinary, cluster and faculty level, and to actively contribute to community engagement. The Senior Lecturer makes a key contribution to the Newcastle Business School, its programs and courses, and plays an important part in ensuring the success of the School and its alignment to the vis

  • A PhD in accounting.
  • Demonstrated record of high level performance in scholarly activities and outputs, research and research funding.
  • Substantial experience in teaching innovation including incorporating contemporary digital platforms and mediums and collaborative/interdisciplinary approaches to teaching and curriculum development.
  • Proven ability to mentor and supervise undergraduate, honours and postgraduate students.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability including the ability to lead/inspire a team to deliver exceptional performance/outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to build external research partnerships and strategic linkages to achieve common goals and positive outcomes for the university.

Salary Package

Academic Level C from $116,805 per annum plus superannuation.
