THE CENTRE 

An exciting opportunity has become available for an Early Childhood Teacher to join our thriving centre located in the heart of Melbourne CBD. KU Little Stars at 500 Bourke Children's Centre is a long day care centre that offers care to the children of employees of NAB ranging from 6 weeks to 6 years old. The centre has a reputation for excellence in the provision of high quality care and education that responds to the very special needs of both the children and the business culture of NAB. With a purpose-built outdoor play area specifically designed for the children, with natural vegetation, ample shade and play equipment, the centre takes pride in providing children with an environment that supports sustainability.

THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Early Childhood Teacher who values partnering with families, wants to join and help lead a passionate, capable and dedicated team.

To be considered for this role, it is essential you have: 

  • previous experience working as an Early Childhood Teacher within an early childhood service
  • an Early Childhood Teaching degree or ACECQA approved equivalent qualification
  • demonstrated solid understanding of:
    • National Quality Framework (NQF)
    • Early Years learning Framework (EYLF)
    • Child Protection legislation & implications (approved Child Protection Training)
    • Workplace Health & Safety legislation and issues
  • success in leading and managing a team with strong pedagogical practice
  • knowledge of the stages of physical, emotional, cognitive, social and cultural development of children
  • the capability to engage children through activities and experiences appropriate for age groups / stages of development
  • knowledge of health, hygiene and the nutrition needs of children
  • the ability to communicate effectively with children, families and staff
  • an aptitude for being proactive and acting on guidance / direction
  • a commitment to your own ongoing professional development in early childhood
  • the ability to undertake the physical requirements involved within an early childhood setting

This position is a full time - fixed term role, working Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day to the end of December 2019.
