About the opportunity 
The Advisor role delivers advice, consultation and guidance through the establishment and execution of new initiatives. This role supports the Director, Strategic Ventures, Vice-Principle (Strategy), Senior Advisors and other subject matter expert leads to provide quality consultation, conducts research and discovery, and design for new strategic ventures, including their implementation and performance monitoring and review. The Advisor partners with senior stakeholders across portfolios, faculties and other communities to deliver major strategic initiatives of the University.

• works closely with the Director, Strategic Ventures and Senior Advisors, contributes to the negotiation, structuring, and execution of new strategic ventures
• contributes to assessment recommendations, business plans, implementation strategies and pilot projects to ensure successful implementation of new initiatives
• contributes to the collective knowledge of the Strategy Portfolio by keeping current with the research and education policy and funding landscape and performance nationally and internationally, including government objectives and priorities, sharing relevant findings with colleagues
• partners with portfolios (OGC, Finance, Research, Education, External Relations) to contribute deep expertise in key content areas to design and deliver solutions, proposals, and business cases for review and agreement of the University Executive.

About us
The Strategy Portfolio is responsible for driving the strategic agenda across the University, including providing analysis, insight, and high-level advice to the Vice-Chancellor and Principal and the University Executive on key strategic issues and opportunities. The Portfolio instigates and facilitates strategic dialogue across the University to inform the development of strategy and planning, and to drive collaboration, partnerships and opportunities for the University. Portfolio incorporates the Strategic Planning and Analysis Office, Strategic Ventures Office and the Central Program Management Office (PMO). The Strategic Ventures Office has been created to provide high level leadership for strategic initiatives. The unit leads the management of complex and innovative new ventures, from concept through due diligence and analysis, designing road maps to implementation and governance structures to monitor success and embedding the initiative into business as usual processes.
