The Education Portfolio is headed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education and Vice President who leads the planning and implementation of the University’s strategies related to RMIT’s academic programs and the RMIT student experience. The Portfolio is responsible for services to support the quality of RMIT programs, including the professional development of academic staff, continuous improvement of the student experience, learning and teaching outcomes and the management of learning and research information sources.

The Academic Registrar's Group (ARG) is responsible for the administrative, policy and governance activities of the University which relate to the student lifecycle. The ARG operating environment is highly complex; the University has more than 80,000 students enrolled in both vocational and Higher Education programs, at campuses in Melbourne, Europe and Vietnam, and at several offshore location in conjunction with educational and industry partners.

The Role and Your Responsibilities

The Senior Coordinator, Admissions is one of two senior coordinators that manage domestic admission and credit transfer activities. Each of the positions has primary responsibility for one or more of the key areas within the team; centralised selection, credit transfer, direct admissions, VCE Extension Studies and VTAC admissions. The senior coordinators share responsibility for leadership, management and coordination of work delivered by the team. These roles work collaboratively with each other and with internal and external stakeholders, to deliver high-quality admission and credit systems and processes. They provide expert advice, ensure proactive and innovative improvement, and maintain a focus on high-quality service provision. These positions make a key contribution to improving customer experience across the prospective student life-cycle, and to achieving university recruitment targets.

Skills & Experience Required

You will have substantial experience in leading and improving administrative services to deliver a better customer experience, preferably in a tertiary education environment as well as proven success at working collegially and at developing and maintaining effective relationships at all levels. You will act as subject matter expert in the development of systems and processes that support the effective delivery of admission and related services. Important to this role will be your ability to support achievement of student recruitment targets and to provide advice on enhancements to the applicant and student experience within policy and regulatory requirements. High-level leadership skills with a proven ability to motivate and develop high performing teams will be key to your success.

This role will require satisfactory confirmation of a Working with Children Check.
