Here at The Akidamy School of Early Learning, we are creating a unique educational program for our families and children to experience and for our educational team to drive – a "place for love and learning".   We are a new architecturally designed School, which includes an amazing outdoor space, with 4 Studios, an Atelier space and in-house kitchen facilities - catering for children aged 3 months to preschool.

We are in close proximity to the Perth CBD and have outstanding public transport facilities near the Akidamy, we are 75m from the East Perth train station and major bike path and 150m major bus routes.

We're seeking to create our team – made up of professionals who are passionate about the value of play and developing a program underpinned by the EYLF. We expect that you're inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, RIE and Pikler philosophies and are keen to create an inspiring, challenging, interesting, creative, collaborative place where the environment is the genuine '3rd teacher' and 'learning is visible'.

We are looking for a positive, friendly and competent Early Childhood Teachers and Room Leaders to join our exciting school. This role could be undertaken in full time or part time capacity

Selection Criteria:

• Preferable a Bachelor of Early Years Education Degree or Completed Diploma in Children's Services.
• Previous substantial experience working as a Lead Educator in an early childhood setting.
• An ability to plan innovative and engaging child initiated curriculums, incorporating both indoor and outdoor environments, sustainability, nature play, and local excursions.
• Be able to document children’s learning and development to a high standard to make children’s learning visible

Overall Requirements:

• Child protection training.
• Demonstrated a passion for early years education.
• An understanding of the NQF and a continuous improvement philosophy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills – and able to build strong relationships.  
• The drive to learn and develop.
• Current Working with Children's Check, Police Clearance, First Aid, CPR and Asthma/Anaphylaxis Certificates.

Desirable Criteria:

• A sense of fun and willingness to think outside the box.
• Experience and practice with Reggio Emilia approach, RIE & Pikler principals and other philosophies and pedagogies.
• Experience in a genuine play based working environment.
• Ability to speak a second language (French, Italian, German and/or Spanish) would be well regarded.
• Visual arts, music or yoga background or knowledge
