About this Role
You will be working with school leaders and a small team of eLearning Leaders to integrate eLearning across all teaching domains and teach coding to junior and middle school students. You are a teacher who has experience in leading the adoption of eLearning, coding across the domains and digital technologies. We are seeking an innovative teacher who has a passion for technology in enhancing learning and teaching outcomes within the classroom environment.
The role is based at Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School (PEGS), a leading private school in Melbourne's north-west corridor catering for students from Kinder to VCE. You'll have the best of both worlds, working at one of Melbourne's most prestigious schools and being part of an established Australian IT company.
You will grow your teaching career by working at the forefront of future best practice and you’ll be a member of our innovative eLearning team, valued for your teaching excellence and creativity.
Key responsibilities:
- Teach coding and digital technologies in the classroom environment
- Integrate educational technology in teaching activities according to the defined strategy
- Work with teachers to facilitate the use of digital technology in the delivery of the curriculum
- Support the development and growth of the learning management system and other eLearning subscription services
About you
You believe that technology enables a high quality learning culture and delivers effective learning outcomes. Your experience has been in junior and middle school having taught coding and digital technologies to Foundation - Year 9 students.
You have the following:
- Current teaching (VIT) registration
- Experience teaching coding and/or digital technologies
- Demonstrated experience teaching with tools such as, Hopscotch, Tynker, Osmo, Beebots, Spheros, Apple Swift
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship building skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Apple Distinguished Educator, Google Educator or Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert certifications or similar would be highly valued
- You have a current driver’s licence and a car – travel between the school's campuses is required.
