Position Information

Dapto High School is a proudly comprehensive school with a vision for “Creative Dapto”. The current enrolment of 950 includes 60 Aboriginal students. Staff are actively engaged with the challenges of supporting learning in the 21st century. DHS is committed to high expectations, and quality teaching and learning practices. Critical school directions involve collaborative programming, and innovative assessment embracing a wide variety of feedback strategies. The school supports technology at all levels within a “Bring Your Own Device” environment. There is a wide variety of extra curricula activities which extend and challenge pupils outside the classroom environment. “Engaging with Asia” is a whole school curriculum focus, as is best practice in supporting students with special learning needs.

Selection Criteria

Approval to teach Hospitality (Food and Beverage and Commercial Cookery) and Food Technology. Demonstrated experience in teaching Stage 4-6, with the capacity to create high quality teaching and learning programs, and develop and implement innovative classroom strategies to contribute to whole school initiatives and faculty. Demonstrated experience in successfully integrating technology to support quality teaching and learning and providing opportunities for gifted and talented students. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a collaborative faculty. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff, parents and build connections with industry and the community. Sensitivity to and ability to integrate Aboriginal perspectives into teaching and learning programs.
