Position Information
Responsible to the Principal for the efficient management of the school's financial and administrative functions and the supervision and training of school administrative officers, as well as providing assistance in school routines and working with teachers.
Vincentia High School’s mission is “Learning for Life”. Vincentia High School is the local comprehensive high school for the Jervis Bay and St Georges Basin area. There are over 1040 students, including a 15% Aboriginal student population and a large special education faculty of 11 classes. The school is proud of its ties with the local communities, especially the Aboriginal community. The school focuses on teaching and learning programs that will improve student literacy and numeracy outcomes; direct and explicit initiatives that will improve educational outcomes for Aboriginal students; teacher professional development programs to improve teacher quality and leadership team effectiveness to improve literacy and numeracy results. The school aims to provide a caring, friendly, stimulating and engaging environment. We prepare our students to meet the challenges of a complex and changing world by developing their full potential socially, creatively and academically.
Selection Criteria
1. Demonstrated ability to undertake financial and accounting responsibilities including use of computerised financial/administrative systems
2. Competency in word processing
3. Demonstrated capacity to exercise initiative, organise resources and meet deadlines
4. Capacity to provide leadership and supervise staff
5. Effective oral and written communication skills
6. Ability to manage an office
7. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies.
