About the team

Penrith City Council is the largest local government child care service provider in NSW, with more than 25 child care facilities annually catering for 4000 children. Committed to providing Children's Services programs for the benefit of families and children across the City, we offer a variety of child care services including Long Day Care, Vacation and Out of School Hours Care, Preschools and a Mobile Playvan and are at the leading edge of implementing curriculum for the intellectual, social and physical development of the children within our care.

About the role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Children’s Services Educator who wants to take that next step in their career. You will be responsible for managing multiple high quality education and care programs, across ages 0 to 12, within the largest local government child care service provider in NSW. Penrith City Council education and care programs are at the leading edge of curriculum implementation. You will be in a pivotal role in driving these programs forward.

This opportunity is permanent full-time, working a 9 day fortnight and 35 hours per week.

 Essential Criteria:

  • A tertiary qualification in Teaching (Early Childhood) or relevant qualification
  • Ability to lead the development and implementation of educational programs and undertake the role of a Nominated Supervisor
  • Child Protection Certificate or the willingness to obtain
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of The National Quality Standards including contemporary curriculum frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of The Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations
  • Demonstrated strong leadership and staff management skills
  • Experience working with children 0 to 12 years in a children's centre

 Desirable Criteria:

  • A current First Aid Certificate
  • A current Class C Driver Licence
  • Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management Training

Commencing Salary: $1,472.59 to $1,688.33 per week depending on experience
