Saint Stephen's College invites applications from experienced and committed Library Technicians to join the College’s iCentre. The successful applicant will work as part of a team, assisting with the efficient running of the iCentre with a particular focus on circulation. Some of the responsibilities will include;
- Ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the iCentre;
- Assisting students and teachers to locate resources;
- Troubleshooting problems with laptops, printers, projectors, etc;
- Sorting material according to classification and returning to shelves or other storage areas;
- Maintaining the booking system and class borrowing times for all areas of the Library;
- Event planning and management;
- Producing display and publicity materials;
- Editing and creation of media;
- Using Libguides, OneNote, Moviemaker, Overdrive and being able to assist students in the use of a variety of applications;
- Working with the Oliver Library System as well as Clickview;
- Working with the Desire to Learn / Brightspace Learning Management System.
This position is a full time (38 hours per week, Monday to Friday) term-time position and will commence as a contract up until the end of the 2018 Academic Year, with the possibility of contract extension / permanency. The position is available for an immediate start. Salary remuneration will be in accordance with the College’s Collective Enterprise Agreement.
To be considered for this position, please address the following criteria in your application:
- Recognised Library Technician / Library Science qualification or the willingness to obtain the relevant qualification;
- Relevant experience within a school library environment;
- Advanced skills in using Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint);
- High-level Graphic Design skills e.g. Adobe Suite and Photoshop;
- Proven experience with the Oliver Library System, Clickview and Overdrive;
- Demonstrated event planning and management skills;
- Demonstrated expertise in Literature as well as Information Literacy and Technology skills are highly desirable;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- A strong work ethic that reflects a collaborative, adaptable and results-oriented approach;
- Current Working with Children Check / Blue Card (or the eligibility to apply).
