 About the opportunity 
Working for the Scholarships Office, within the Fees and Scholarships team, we are looking for a confident and authentic Team Leader to drive the end-to-end scholarship process, direct the provision of general administrative support, enquiry and processing related functions, ensuring that the team is appropriately resourced and supported. This includes the development of individual and team work plans, establishing, monitoring and reporting on performance measure to ensure quality, timeliness and accuracy of services delivered.

The role also has responsibility for advising on and resolving more complex issues where standard rules and guidelines might not be in place, and interpretation of policy and contracts are required. The role will ensure the review of procedures, work instructions, training and orientation approaches to ensure best practice.

  • proactively promotes a team culture that is consistent with the University’s values and the development of professional, productive and positive relationships within the team and with faculty administrative staff, academics and other internal stakeholders
  • is adept at compiling reports, carrying out relevant analyses, drawing data from a variety of sources within and outside of the department to produce reports, analyses and recommendations within prescribed guidelines and standards.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their experience in leading a team, working with teams to get the best from each member, improving team dynamics and encouraging growth for their team members.  Also key, will be your knowledge of scholarships in a higher education environment


About us
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Registrar) Portfolio is responsible for the development, organisation and management of personnel, processes, policies and technologies to support and document each student's relationship with the University from first awareness and enquiries , through recruitment , admission, enrolment , academic advising, assessment, record keeping and graduation.  It oversees student recruitment and induction, orientation, leadership training and mentoring; the management of student support services including student counselling , careers, disability services , accommodation advice and welfare; facilitates  co­ curricular activities that are planned, organised and managed by students; and liaison with student organisations and the residential colleges. 

The Fees and Scholarships team works with the other Student Administration Services Teams, the Portfolio’s Heads and Area Managers to develop, implement and continuously improve the portfolio’s approach to student administration strategy, operations and processes, ensuring they are effective and efficient and aligned to the University’s strategic goals.
