About the opportunity 

The Educational Design Advisor works strategically with the Academic Lead (Education), program Directors and academic staff to develop innovative and more active learning modes of course delivery and assessment in pre-and post-registration programs, and to support staff professional development in learning and teaching in ways that enable staff to maximise student learning. 

This role will provide strategic, pedagogically informed advice to the Faculty Executive and program Directors regarding innovation in educational design and eLearning. In collaboration with the Academic Lead (Education), program Directors and unit of study coordinators, the Educational Design Advisor will support the development of assessments which link the graduate qualities identified in the learning outcomes to assessment tasks and marking rubrics.
 

About you

  • postgraduate qualifications and relevant experience in educational/instructional design
  • extensive educational design experience within a Learning Management System (LMS) in a tertiary education provider, including experience with Canvas LMS and open-source LMS solutions
  • demonstrated, strong instructional design skills, including the ability to perform needs analysis using a recognised instructional design model
  • well-developed leadership skills with an ability to mentor academic staff in developing appropriate blended and active learning capabilities
  • well-developed project management skills
  • high level interpersonal skills including liaison and influencing skills.

Experience working in a health education would be highly regarded.

The Susan Wakil School of Nursing and Midwifery sits within the Faculty of Medicine and Health. The School’s main academic activities are teaching, research and scholarship, together with practice and policy development and engagement with all health professions.
