Academic Services Division

The Academic Services Division has primary responsibility for the delivery of student focused administrative functions and contributes also to student-related policy development. The Academic Services Division (ASD) consists of the Office of the Academic Registrar and the Directorates of Student Administration and Academic Administration. The Directorates provide high quality administrative and professional services in support of the University’s academic activities.

The role

The successful appointee will provide high level analysis and preparation of timetabling data and will contribute to the scheduling and ongoing maintenance of the University class timetable which will include solving challenging complex timetabling issues in response to business needs whilst ensuring continuous improvement to the student experience and effective room utilisation.  The role will also involve developing and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships with relevant Schools/Faculties which will include the delivery of specialised training and support.

As well as providing expert advice on timetabling and contributing to ongoing business improvements, the role will also assist in the regular audit and inspection of centrally-controlled teaching spaces.

The person

Applicants should have a degree without substantial relevant experience, or a combination of relevant experience and education/training.  You should have well-developed organisational, analytical and problem solving skills, an ability to innovate and exercise informed judgement within a business context.  High level computer skills are required along with knowledge of, or the ability to acquire knowledge regarding University timetabling and room booking systems and procedures.  You should have strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders.

This role is a full-time position; however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, fixed term appointment at HEW Level 5. The remuneration package will be in the range $ 64,597.80 - $ 72,348.94 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 9.5% (total package will be in the range $70,734.59 - $79,222.09 p.a.).
