The UWA Centre for Social Impact (UWA CSI) is located in the Business School at the University of Western Australia and is part of a national Centre for Social Impact (CSI) network. The mission of the CSI is to create beneficial social impact in Australia through teaching, research, measurement and the promotion of public debate. UnitingCare West (UCW) is a community services agency of the Uniting Church that touches the lives of thousands of families and individuals each year. The mission of UnitingCare West is to work with people and communities so everyone can belong and thrive.

This position has been created to facilitate a collaborative research partnership between the UWA Centre for Social Impact and UnitingCare West. 

About the opportunity

As Research Service Analyst, Impact, Outcomes and Satisfaction, you will be responsible for assisting UCW to continue to develop, implement and evaluate a UCW service user satisfaction and outcomes/impact measurement framework to enable the organisation to use data to demonstrate the difference it makes in the lives of others, and to also assist in continuous improvement activities.

The position will be based at UnitingCare West and will facilitate a collaborative research partnership between UWA CSI and UnitingCare West. You will play a key role engaging with multiple internal and external key stakeholders, realising a multifaceted and integrated Outcome, Impact and Satisfaction Framework that is readily translated into plain and accessible language.

About you

To succeed in this role, it is critical that you possess:

  • Completion or near completion of a PhD or research masters qualification would be highly regarded 
  • Demonstrable knowledge of community services
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the relationship between service measurement and organisational viability and sustainability
  • Substantial relevant experience in designing, using and reporting on the use of Outcomes, Impact and Satisfaction measures, inclusive of Participatory Action Research methods
  • Demonstrable experience and capability to effectively disseminate research and evaluation findings across a range of mediums and to a range of audiences
  • Quantitative skills including statistical analysis and proficiency using statistical software such as SPSS
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the proven ability to engage and translate knowledge between the academic and the community service sector stakeholders
  • Capacity and willingness to work respectfully within the Christian ethos of United Care West (applicants of any or no religious backgrounds are all welcome to apply)

This position also requires a current C class driver's licence, a working with children check and a current National Police Clearance Certificate.
