About the position
The Department of Public Health is a leading authority in many areas of public health including health policy, health promotion, health administration, health information management and informatics, art therapy, occupational health and safety, palliative care and rehabilitation counselling. The Department is currently edxpanding its offerings in the health analytics discipline by launching a new suite of programs in Digital Health.
The School of Psychology and Public Heath is seeking an experienced Senior Lecturer to join its Department of Public Health and to play a key role providing significant contribution in scholarly, research and professional activities relating to digital health, specifically healthcare analytics and the digital applications of health data, including coded data. You will conduct and lead innovative and high impact research and engage students through your high quality teaching and scholarly approach to learning and teaching. This position will also assume a course coordination role for postgraduate programs in digital health.
Skills and Experience Required
- Completion of a PhD or equivalent qualifications and standing recognised by the University/profession as appropriate for the relevant discipline area (e.g. healthcare data analytics, health information management, or clinical informatics).
- Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching with a commitment to excellence in teaching.
- Demonstrated capacity in curriculum development at course/program level.
- Proven ability to mentor and supervise undergraduate, honour and postgraduate students
In addition to the above, a Teaching & Research Academic will have a strong record of research publications and success in obtaining research funding from grants, contracts and/or consultancies.
