Learning, Teaching and Curriculum (LTC) sits within the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) portfolio. LTC’s vision is to advance educational services across UOW with the goal of delivering innovation and supporting best practice in learning, teaching and curriculum across all campuses. Working as a multidisciplinary team we provide leadership and expertise when partnering with staff and students to support continuous improvement in learning and teaching practices and recognise and disseminate learning and teaching excellence at UOW.

LTC is redefining its approach to its ways of working to focus on delivering services to stakeholders on a project basis. From 2019, institutional needs will be serviced through a project team approach, combining internal expertise and strength from across our domains of expertise. We will have a flexible, collaborative and highly capable approach in a context of transparent and streamlined operational procedures. Through this approach we promote shared ownership, accountability and leadership experiences for all staff.

This position will be responsible for providing effective strategic management to cultivate a dynamic, collaborative environment that fosters excellence and innovation in teaching, learning and curriculum, and associated research to promote these practices locally, nationally and internationally. It will play a key role in ensuring that the Curriculum and Learning Development team implements sustainable and scalable solutions towards student retention by (a) supporting students to fully develop their academic potential and (b) working with staff to embed sound curriculum solutions to enhance the student learning experience.

Within LTC, this position will play a key role in the effective operationalisation of LTC’s new Ways of Working by demonstrating & promoting domain/discipline leadership, developing a transparent program of work and staffing, and supporting team building, collaboration and co-creation within and across LTC teams.
